There are many advantages of becoming a member of the
Association. Some of these are:
- Directories
- Database
We have a database of over 3,000 Brigade veterans, most
from Vietnam. This is a searchable database. You can search
for your old friends by several different categories. The
database includes name, address, phone number, e-mail
address, unit served in, years and military grade in
Brigade.
- Military Causalities
There were more than 250 Brigade casualties in Vietnam.
There was an initial research effort to identify these
causalities and 236 were identified. Robert Stephens
(41st Sig Bn, 64-67 and 69-70) has done a superb
research effort on Brigade causalities. He has
identified a few that were on our list that were not in
the Brigade but he has identified nearly two dozen who
were not on our list. The total number of causalities is
more than 250. Robert’s work is continuing. He is
getting the actual causality data from the government. A
database of these causalities is searchable.
- Civilian Causalities
There were at least a dozen civilian causalities. Most
were Page Engineer employees building the Pr’ Line site
outside of Dalat. Details of the Page ambush are
contained in the article, “Dalat – Pr’Line
Ambush of Page
Communications Engineers, Thanksgiving Day, November 24,
1966”.
- Retirees Deaths
There is a list of the deaths of some of our veterans.
This list is primarily senior officers whose death was
published in newspapers. This list can be expanded as
long as you brigade veterans send the necessary
information to the Association Secretary,
sec@1stSigBdeAssn.org.
