The 1st Signal Brigade Association held its third reunion on September 12-13, 2008 at Marriott Hotel in Augusta, GA and Fort Gordon, GA. We had 61 veterans in attendance.

MG John Hoover (US Army retired) was our speaker at our Saturday night banquet. LTC Alan C. Henrickson was our Chaplin.

One of the highlights of the weekend was our one day escorted trip to Fort Gordon. Many of our members had trained at Gordon but they saw only one or two structures that they recognized.

The training facilities were outstanding and well run by a very competent staff. One of the most unique aspects of the training of the Signal troops was the combat training they receive the first two and last two weeks of the training cycle. Since most would be going directly to Iraq of Afghanistan, their training will help them survive in the combat environment.
